The Research and Publications Committee consists of not fewer than six members, of whom not fewer than three are Members of the Council and not fewer than three are persons who are not Members of the Council. The Editor and the Assistant Editor serve as ex officio members of the Committee.

The Committee:

a. administers, coordinates, and promotes the research and knowledge-dissemination activities of the Institute, including the organisation of symposia;

b. prepares, edits, and publishes the Journal of the Institute: Journal of Environmental Professionals Sri Lanka; 

c. prepares and publishes such other scientific and technical publications as it considers appropriate;

d. promotes and facilitates research in the fields of environmental management, environmental conservation, and related disciplines; and

e. supports policy formulation and decision-making within the State and non-governmental sectors by providing expert opinions, technical advice, and other relevant professional inputs.
