CALLING FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE AWARD OF FELLOW MEMBERSHIP – 2026
The Council of IEPSL, in recognition of the significant contributions and professional excellence of its members, is pleased to invite eligible Corporate Members to apply for the prestigious Fellow Membership status.
Fellowship is the highest award conferred by the Institution and acknowledges a member’s superior experience, leadership, and notable impact in the environmental field.
Eligibility Criteria:
As per the Rules of the IEPSL (Appendix B1 Section 1.1), every candidate for transfer to the grade of Fellow should satisfy the council that he/she;
- has been a Member of the IEPSL for a continuous period of not less than ten years;
- has been engaged for a period of not less than ten years in the practice in a position of responsibility as a corporate member and has made a contribution acceptable to the council, adequate credit being given to professional experience gained after corporate membership, publication of research papers/ patents/ conducting programs on topics related to the environmental field, carried out after corporate membership;
- is a Chartered Environmental Professional, having more than five years of professional qualifications and experience after the award of the Charter;
- has not been found guilty of reprimand or suspension by the council;
- has been actively engaged in activities of the IEPSL
Application Procedure:
A corporate member who satisfies the required qualifications as stated above may apply to
become a Fellow of IEPSL by submitting an application on the prescribed form along with the required documents.
- The application shall be in two parts: Part 1 is General Information to demonstrate that he/she meets the minimum eligibility requirements.
- Part 2 is a Report which demonstrates the applicant’s superior experience he/she has gained after becoming a Chartered Environmental Professional, Continuous Professional Development undergone, and contributions he/she has made to the field he/she is practising as an Environmental Professional and to the IEPSL.
The Prescribed Application Form is in Annex 1.
The Application should be submitted with a covering letter, which should include a declaration by the applicant, proposed by a fellow member and seconded by two corporate members of IEPSL. The declaration to be included in the covering letter is in Annex 2.
Submission:
The covering letter, along with the completed application and the required documents, should be submitted to the IEPSL Secretariat via the https://www.iepsl.lk/Fellow2026/ portal for online submissions. The closing date for the submission of completed applications is January 31, 2026. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
