The Institute of Environmental Professionals Sri Lanka (IEPSL) successfully commemorated World Ocean Day 2025 with a special awareness event titled “From Nurdles to Nations: Tackling Plastic Pollution and Building Ocean Resilience” on 28th June 2025 at the Ocean University of Sri Lanka, Crow Island, Mattakkuliya.
The keynote session was delivered by Mrs. Dharshani Lahandapura, Environmental Lawyer and former Chairman of the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), who provided valuable insights on marine plastic pollution and ocean resilience. The event also marked a key milestone as IEPSL introduced its activities and objectives to the Ocean University student community.
A successful membership drive was conducted, encouraging future environmental professionals to join the institute and actively contribute to national and global sustainability efforts. We extend our sincere thanks to all participants and collaborators, especially Ocean University of Sri Lanka and Clean Ocean Force, for making this event a meaningful step toward protecting our oceans.
